Senior Portfolio Manager & Wealth Advisor
Phil is responsible for determining all investment portfolio strategy, working alongside RBC's investment strategy committee. Born in Oxford, England, he graduated from Liverpool University before completing his master’s degree at Simon Fraser University. After university, Phil joined RBC Dominion Securities, where he has worked since 1994. He holds securities, options, portfolio management, financial planning, and insurance licenses, along with both the Canadian Investment Manager (CIM) and Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI) designations. Outside work, Phil leads a very active life, primarily mountain biking and kickboxing.

Chris has a commerce degree from the University of British Columbia, and has worked in the securities industry for more than 25 years. He holds both the Canadian Investment Manager (CIM) and Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI) designations. His experience within the industry is invaluable for the team and clients, and he is committed to delivering an exceptional client relationship experience. His dedication to helping clients achieve financial success has been recognized with an RBC Investments Award of Excellence. In his free time, Chris likes to stay active, hiking and skiing.
Business Development Lead
Laura brings more than 14 years of experience in the financial services industry to our team, having first joined RBC Financial Group in 2012. She began working with Phil at RBC Dominion Securities in 2014, and has been dedicated to delivering an exceptional client service experience. Laura’s role includes managing portfolio trade execution as well as overseeing the team’s social media, marketing, and website content. Her organizational skills and attention to detail are outstanding, making her a favourite among clients. In her spare time, Laura enjoys staying active in her community through volunteer work. When she’s not volunteering, she loves spending time outdoors hiking, camping, and running. She and her husband cherish time with their three-year-old daughter, embracing all the joys of parenthood.
Associate Advisor
James holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from the University of Victoria, and has completed the Canadian Securities Course (CSC). After working in the branch at the Royal Bank, James followed his passion for investing by moving to Dominion Securities in 2022. He has quickly established himself as an invaluable member of our team, managing his own portfolio of clients, providing administrative support to Phil and the rest of the team, and becoming the team's technology expert. Away from work, James enjoys mountain biking along with playing competitive soccer.
Administrative Associate
Backed by 11 years of experience in the financial services industry, Maria plays a key role in supporting our team, with a primary focus on account opening and administrative documentation. Maria brings strong attention to detail and efficiency to her role, along with a commitment to client service. A graduate of The University of British Columbia, Maria holds a bachelor’s degree in Management. Originally from Peru, Maria moved to Canada in 2017, and is fluent in English and Spanish, with a working knowledge of Portuguese. Maria enjoys exploring different cuisines and discovering new restaurants, an interest that inspired her to create a foodie-focused Instagram account where she shares her culinary experiences.
